Borrowed from my Boyfriend

So while skinny jeans have been dominating for the past year and a half it's nice to see a change in style, but who knew it was going to be boyfriend jeans? I'll admit i've always been a fan of the men's button ups but the jeans... I personally am unsure but Katie Holmes and Sarah Jessica Parker are sporting them around town.

Ahoy Matie!

Betsey Johnson's runway shows are always over the top but her Spring 2009 show was a trip into another world. With Captain Jack Sparrow inspired pirate themes and peter pan-esque outfits, Johnson proved her ability to get away with almost anything (ahm, hoop skirts!)

Sigerson Morrison for Target

I've always been interested in the Go:International lines for Target but the news that duo Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison will be creating a line of shoes ranging from $30-$40 is enough to make me run to target now. The collection will include pumps, ankle boots, and flats with details such as studs and metallics.

Dunst Smiles for the Camera

Kirsten Dunst graces the cover of the October issue of Harper's Bazaar. After a mysterious stint at Cirque Lodge rehabilitation center that later turned out to be for depression, Dunst states, "Everyone goes through a hard time in their life." "Now, I'm great."

The cover looks great with Dunst doing something most stars are unwilling to do on any cover other than seventeen - smiling.

Material Girl

Who doesn't remember the outfit Madonna wore in the material girl video when she acted like Marilyn Monroe in "Diamond's are a Girl's Best Friend". Who else could actually pull off acting like Monroe? And that Gaultier black satin conical bra she wore on the blonde ambition tour. Madonna has had some crazy outfits and now they are to be on display in February at the Old Truman Brewery in East London. The exhibition will be entitled "Simply Madonna, Materials of the Girl" and the pieces are assumed to be auctioned afterwards.

Tautou for Chanel

While Shirley McClaine may be acting as the fashion guru in a lifetime movie, it is Audrey Tautou, the current face of chanel no. 5, that I am looking forward to seeing playing Coco Chanel. Karl Lagerfeld will be involved in re-creating the costumes of the time, which obviously makes the film a must see. Filming starts September 15 in where else?, Paris.

Bravo Zoe

Rachel Zoe is premiering a new shoe on Bravo all about her work as a celebrity stylist. In a quote, Zoe states, " The biggest challenge of my life is trying to have a personal life and trying to build my brand." Zoe is best known from working with celebrities such as Joy Bryant, Molly Sims, Anne Hathaway and more. You may remember her from her "feud" with Nicole Richie, but anyways, from water disasters to interns that don't get along  be prepared to watch the series premiere on September 8th.

Making an Appearance

Guess who is the new host of Nylon TV for ITunes?
British style icon Peaches Geldof.

It's been rumored that Ashley Olsen suggest Peaches move to New York, but whether or not that is true, she is here and she is ready to get her talk on. Watch the preview episode here

Vogue has a new online show which features new models Austria Alcantara, Cato Van Ee, and Madeline Kragh. The show follows these young girls as they get their start in fashion - each with a different story and struggles. The show airs online at bebo.com every friday. So far two episodes have aired one as just an introduction to the girls and the other about Cato's departure from her native Holland.

The Line-Up

Target Go-International line-up for the next few months
Richard Chai
Jonathan Saunders
Thakoon

Rumor has it that Alexander McQueen may follow suit. If Only!

Coming to America

So for the second year in a row a Brit takes the cover of September Vogue. Keira Knightley steals the cover. The magazine votes 798 pages of fashion, but less ads were taken out than last year - another sign that the magazine is struggling along with other conde nast publications.

Vogue's Mossy Cover

Kate Moss graces the cover of Vogue and apparently she wants to prove that a mother can still have fun.

"I am still acting like a seventeen-year-old. I definitely haven't become middle-aged. I've got a house and a daughter and all that, but I still like to have fun. Even in my business we still have fun."

Hot for Haute Couture

Christian Lacroix has got to be one of my all time favorite designers. I guess it's because his haute couture designs are always reminiscent of one of my all time favorite eras, the Victorian Age. With all the lace and close attention to details, I find myself in awe.

Two pieces really caught my eye. The pink dress I think because the vast majority of the line was black and thus the color itself stood out and this black number.

Ravashing in Red

The Valentine couture show was held in the Place Vendôme showroom of the house, but what most people were concerned about was how Alessandra Facchinetti would do. This is her first show since Valentino retired leaving her in charge of the collection.

Valentino sat in the front row of the show and I've got to say while it defintily proves to be headed by a different designer, I liked it. And she made sure to end the show with Valentino's signature, a red dress.

Ei, Ei Chai

Richard Chai's new line is being shown off on Nylonmag.com and while I am personally not crazy about all the pieces, I really like the color block dress.

The line will appear in select Target stores in August.

Say Goodbye to Paris

Sean Avery whom I earlier wrote to be attending all the shows at Paris fashion week is nowhere to be seen . Apparently he was needed in the world of hockey and thus was unable to attend as previously planned. Avery's comment?

"I'm sad. I spent three days packing."

Bathing Beauty

The Fall 2008 Paris Couture shows have begun and I begin with showing off a Dior piece that I believe has taken inspiration from the old bathing suits of the 50's.
