"This is my Mother's house"
So as I researched more about the film I ran across something VERY interesting. It's being made into a film. And who will be playing little Edie you ask? Why Drew Barrymore.
I don't know if I'm liking this or not.

"VICTORIA BECKHAM
My favourite is my Hermès Kelly bag, in which I always carry my DVB sunglasses, my BlackBerry, a small make-up bag with a few essentials, baby wipes, some toys for the boys when they’re out and about and a spare nappy for Cruz.
SAVANNAH MILLER
I love Luella’s bags – they are beautifully made and you don’t see them everywhere. Inside is my BlackBerry, which has changed my life; Ruby & Millie Face Gloss, which gives a natural glow and stops you looking like a dog’s dinner; Airborne Formula, a fizzy vitamin thing that is amazing for avoiding bugs on planes; Oyster card; pictures of my family; and a Moleskine sketchbook.
NIGELLA LAWSON
I feel rather antilabel about handbags these days – they’re all a little too Wagtastic. I’m using an anonymous suede bag by Fratelli Rossetti. Inside is a Givenchy powder compact in Happy Sun, a Letts Ladydate diary, a tube of Colman’s English mustard, a mini supply of Maldon salt, a mini bottle of Tabasco, my BlackBerry and a digital camera for taking pictures of everything I eat.
ROKSANDA ILINCIC
My bag is a Chanel 2.55 that was a present from my husband three years ago. I still haven’t found anything that could replace it. Inside are my two favourite lipsticks, Amplified Orange by Mac and a shocking-pink YSL; my LG Shine mobile, which doubles as a mirror; Shu Uemura Depsea Water in Rose and Shu Uemura mascara; YSL vintage sunglasses; Flavigny Pastilles, preferably violet flavour; and my Eiffel Tower gold pen, found when tourist shopping in Paris.
COLEEN McLOUGHLIN
I’m using a classic black leather Chanel bag. I use the same routine when it comes to packing it and follow it religiously: diary, camera (you never know when you will need one), St Tropez Bronzer, Nars blusher, Pout lip plump, YSL mascara, my own Coleen X perfume, green Wrigley’s Extra, credit cards and money in case I need to take a taxi. Times They are A'Changin
That's right Cavalli is designing the next inexpensive line for the store. Expect long lines at all stores when it launches on November 8 (don't tell me you forgot about the Stella McCartney raid already?) He's calling this collection his "flash collection" and it will feature his signature leopard print.

Oh Sweet Nostalgia
In the October issue of Vogue magazine writer Joyce Maynard was featured. The article intrigued me because it was about an author who wrote a novel looking back - the catch is she was looking back on her life at only eighteen. The article can be found here. The novel Looking Back is really intriguing about her life growing up in the sixties covering events such as beatlemania and those wonderful sitcom television shows (andy griffith and i love lucy ring a bell?) I had to buy it offline because the novel is a nightmare finding in stores (it could be out of print) anyways invest - you'll love it

Via E-card
The New York Times did an article on e-cards and this amazingly witty site. Someecards.com The site is composed of some of the funniest cards I've ever seen and I immediately sent a few to some friends. So e-cards are no longer geeky attempts to cover the fact that you forgot someone's birthday.

Venturing 'Into the Wild'
I just saw an interview pertaining to the new movie "Into the Wild" starting Emile Hirsch. It's based on a book and I can't wait to pick it up. The novel follows the true story of a young man who backpacked around America in an attempt to find himself. After traveling the daunting wilderness of Alaska, the boy was found emaciated and dead in an abandoned bus which he had converted into his own home. The movie opens nationwide in October and was directed by Sean Penn.

Leave Her a-Lohan
So just finished reading the September Elle article about Lindsay Lohan in which she explains herself as a girl just trying to live her life. She boasts about her career and "talents" (“I just want to be nominated for an award for all the work I’ve done. It’s so funny – people forget that I played two characters in Parent Trap when I was twelve years old.”)and throws down stupid jokes like "how do you make a blond laugh on Saturday? tell her a joke on Wednesday." Believe me when I say it's not worth your time. And as that t-shirt says "Leave her a-Lohan" (so that we don't have to suffer through seeing her anymore!!!!!

Here Comes the Bride..
Who just got married? Why, it's A.C. Newman lead singer of the New Pornographers. Neko Case (another singer for the band) sang at the wedding for Newman and his wife Christy Simpson (marketing manager of their label Matador Records) Also, it was reported that band Mates of State sang their version of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" at the after-party.
The New Pornographers new CD is out entitled "Challengers"

You Ain't Nothin' but a Hounddog
Today is the 30th anniversary of the death of Elvis, and fans are going Elvis paraphernalia crazy. This article is about an Elvis Presley vigil in Graceland, Elvis' hometown. Others are paying their tributes in Canada, some are remenicing on the way he changed their lives, and the Brits are paying their respects as well.

And we all say "Dali!"
While visiting the Tate Modern in London, there was an exhibition going on featuring Salvadore Dali's works. Sadly, I was at a loss of time and thus was not able to see the exhibit, but it did leave me to want to research the man, and I surprisingly found that he has a connection with the fashion world. He actually worked with Coco Chanel doing fashion and jewelery designs. He also designed costumes for the Ballets Russes de Montecarlo's first performance at the Metropolitan Opera House of Labyrinth.

Twenty8Twelve
The British world has always had Sienna Miller on the radar for fashion excellence and Americans are slowly noticing her too, and now all of us can wear the clothing she loves through her new line Twenty8Twelve produced with sister, Savannah Miller. Sienna seems to be the fashion guru while Savannah is the actual designer. Savannah has freelanced with many designers, one including Alexander McQueen. Here are some photos from the release party(I love the white dress of Savannah) and of the actual line (featured in British Vogue):

Welcome Back Miu Miu
The "New Look"
In her Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat
I just finished watching Factory Girl starring Sienna Miller as Edie Sedgwick and Guy Pierce as Andy Warhol and loved it. The director does a great job of juxtaposing the old-style film with modern day film techniques. The funny part of it is that Sedgwick's love interest goes by the name "Billy Quinn" and they also refer to him as a "famous folk singer" rather than actually calling him Bob Dylan. Maybe Dylan didn't want his name used? It is true that Dylan refuses to sing any of his songs from the 60's (which is disappointing since those are some of his best songs).

Blast From the Past?
This "Phonofone II" by Science and Sons is a whopping $840 but it combines the past with present (which makes me want to listen to the song 'past in present' by feist and i could on this new phonofone! [said in price is right voice]). All one does is hook it up to the output of your cd player or any other musical device and you've got music playing like the good ole' days.

Oye Vey Eet Ez Zee Simpsons!
The Simpsons in Paris? The Simpsons in fashion?
Well it's true. At trendy Parisian it-store Colette, the window display fashions are modeled by none other than Marge, Lisa and all the other Simpson characters in honor of the new movie. Plus, everything in the store is devoted to the Simpsons from Pez containers to any other memorabilia you can think of. 20 French artists were invited to sculpt their own idea of Bart Simpson. Believe it or not this was the store's idea not Fox. Artistic Director Sarah Colette stated, "Fox couldn't really understand why we would want the Simpsons in a fashion shop"
